The Occupational Safety and Health Inspection Objective

  • Settling the principles and the culture of occupational safety and health at work and the compliance to them as a civil value contributing in establishing the institutions and increasing production and performance competency in the way that accomplishes the institution growth, sets the rights of the workers and the work owners and improves the national economy.
  • Protecting the human resources against the injuries resulting from the work environment risks through ceasing their exposure to accidents, injuries and occupational diseases.
  • Protecting the fundamentals of the material element residing the institutions and their components such as devices and tools from damage and loss due to the accidents.
  • Providing and executing the entire conditions of occupational safety and health stated the Omani Labor Law and the occupational safety and health regulation which ensures the provision of a secure environment realizing the protection for both the human and material elements from the hazards.
  • Following the occupational safety and health as a scientific method to settle safety and security within the workers while they are performing their duties and to cease anxiety and annoyance they face due to their daily contact with tools, materials and machines that have various risks threatening their lives.
  • Providing information and consultations for the work owners and the workers a propos commitment to legal provisions in the way that realizes good relations and continuous communication between them with the purpose of improving these relations and then serving the mutual benefits of the entire parties participating in the production.
  • Spreading awareness and knowledge concerning the occupational safety and health through the directive boards, brochures and booklets.
  • Reporting the breaches of the provisions and systems of the Labor Law and the occupational safety and health regulation.
  • Conducting investigations in respect of the occupational safety and health accidents and performing empirical studies a propos the causes of these accidents in order to set recommendations to cease them.
  • Following-up the national, territorial and international reports and researches concerning the occupational safety and health to cope with their development.
