Technical Work

1. Inspection Visits

These visits aim at checking whether the industrial institutions are applying the ministerial laws and resolutions related to occupational safety and health. The specialists in the department study and evaluate the work environment generally and specify any breaches either from the workers or from the work owners recommending them to correct these infractions. Then, they continuously follow them to make sure of that.

2. Edification Visits

The department conducts enlightening campaigns for the workers in the different institutions to inform them about the hazards surrounding them and to urge them to comply with the occupational safety and health systems (wearing personal protection tools, the correct dealing with the machines and work equipments…). The department also informs the work owners a propos the importance of supplying the workers with the different safety tools and the necessity of creating appropriate health circumstances and atmosphere in the workplace.

3. Labor Complaints

The department receives the complaints made by the workers in the intuitions of the private sectors related to the infractions of the occupational safety and health conditions. It starts empirical visits and meets the parties of the complaint in order to find the suitable conciliative solutions.

4. Work Injuries

The department receives the declarations of work injuries (forms filled by the institutions) and looks for its causes recommending the institutions to follow different procedures and mechanisms to prevent their recurrence.

5. Competition of the Best Five Factories for His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Cup

The department participates in evaluating the institutions in terms of their commitment to the occupational safety and health rules which are the main condition to participate in this competition.
