National Manpower Registration : Goals

The Ministry of Manpower has endeavored to establish this register to achieve a series of goals serving the blessed renaissance progress in the Sultanate. These goals include the following:

• Building a single labor force database in the Sultanate, establishing vital informational systems to provide data and information required for decision making and unifying labor force terminologies and concepts, finding a single technical language among the concerned parties and supporting planning mechanisms of the economic and social development.
• Availing all data about labor force in the Sultanate, monitoring the reality of the labor force and job seekers whether in the public or private sectors, as well as following up the housing, social and economic changes in their future trends.
• Assisting in drafting policies and plans and taking appropriate procedures to implement the endorsed human resources development policies in the Sultanate and ensuring the best utilization of same and assessing and following up the impact of plans aimed at achieving the endorsed policies
• Facilitating the preparation of the labor force vocational structure and monitoring any changes in it.
• Rationalizing the education and training policies and linking them to the requirements of the development plans and the labor market, to enhance participation of the population in the economic activity and reduce unemployment rates in the country.

• Assisting in regulating employment operations and procedures and developing the level of employment services offered by the Ministry.

• Availing data and information required for the issuance of a periodical statistical bulletin about the labor market indicators and labor force reality in Oman.
